The literal thinker.

Welcome aboard. Well, not really aboard, but welcome to the blog.

As someone who sees and hears everything in the world literally first, by default, it leads to some thoughts that it would seem most people don't have. Besides needing to add an extra level of thought to most things I encounter, it is also like being inside an absurdist/surrealist comedy act all the time. What most people say/write to each other, without a second glance or thought, are really non-sequiters to someone who perceives everything literally.

A literal mind can bring with it some benefits though, such as being able to notice details that others easily overlook and more easily grasping mindfulness philosophy via inherent understanding that absolutes like "always" and "never" rarely apply. There can be many frustrations though, such as not knowing what others really mean and being frustrated by the overuse of jargon that does not have true definitions.

The purpose of this blog is to, hopefully, provide some insight into the world of the literal thinker. Others, who operate the same way, might also find comfort that they are not the only ones, or be able to provide some varying views of the same/similar situations.
